Russia’s Gefest-M placed in US anti-North Korean sanctions list

WASHINGTON, Aug 22 (PRIME) -- The U.S. Department of Treasury has published a revised sanctions list of companies having ties with North Korea, which includes Moscow-registered Gefest-M and firms from China, Namibia and Singapore, as seen by PRIME on the authority’s Web site on Tuesday.

The Department of Treasury said Gefest-M and its CEO Ruben Kirakosyan “were involved in metal purchases” for Moscow’s office of Tangun corporation sanctioned by the UNO and the U.S. for the ties with the program to develop mass destruction weapons.
